Most foot creams are gone in ten minutes — half absorbed, half on your bedsheets. Dermastep is built thick, applied at night, and covered with a sock. It stays where you put it for eight hours while you sleep, which is the only reason a 60% urea formula gets the time it needs to do anything.

What's actually in it

• 60% urea — at low concentrations urea is a simple humectant. At 60% it works on thickened, hardened skin instead of sitting on top of it. Roughly ten times the concentration in a drugstore foot cream.
• Salicylic acid — loosens the bonds holding dead surface cells together, so hardened skin lifts away gradually instead of building up.
• Aloe vera — soothes and calms skin that's had a keratolytic on it overnight.
• Avocado oil — a heavier, slower-absorbing oil. It's what keeps the balm sitting on your heel rather than soaking straight in.

How to use it

1. Wash and dry your feet at the end of the day.
2. Apply a thin layer to heels and any rough, thickened areas. A little goes a long way — this is not a lotion.
3. Pull a pair of socks on and go to bed.
4. Rinse in the morning. Repeat nightly.

What to expect, honestly

Texture changes are gradual. Most people are looking at a couple of weeks of consistent nightly use before rough patches feel meaningfully different — not a couple of days. Skipping nights is the main reason people don't see a change. One 40g jar is roughly a month of nightly use on heels.
